Was the Fielder walk intentional?
Interesting in that every hit by the Brewers is an extra base hit — 3 doubles, two triples and a home run. Padres have 4 of their 8 for extra bases which is pretty good — if they lose this the main goat has to be Hairston for coming up three times with a runner on 2nd (once with one out though) and not moving him over.
282. I’ve given up on him because his strikeouts are way down, and he hasn’t blow this many games in a season since 2000, when he blew 7.
All his periphrials are going down, he’s 39 years old, and he isn’t going to get any better next year.
What’s the saying… better to get rid of a guy one year too early than one year too late.
If you’re not going to bring in a righty to face Hart, it might have made more sense to go after Fielder. Fielder has an .831 OPS against lefties, Hart 1.038.

299: Nope, it’s still Tomko tomorrow. Peavy will pitch on Monday if we lose tomorrow AND either the Mets win AND the Phillies win OR the Rockies win tonight AND the Rockies win tomorrow. Unless the Phillies and Mets both win and the Rockies lose, in which case the Phillies and Mets would have a one game playoff for the East division, and Peavy would pitch on Tuesday against the winner of that game.
