146: Really? Now Gameday is just really, really behind.
We have a Macias sighting.
Hairston wishes he was still hitting against SF pitching
Criminy, can Giles not manage to pull a ground ball off a junk-throwing soft-tosser?
Seriously, gameday still has it as 1 out in the bottom of the 6th. What’s happening???
149: “he?” don’t you mean, “how did I mock it?”
he chuckled… and repeated the phrase
Kouz keeps it going and gets El Hombre to the plate.
149: he repeated “stealth fastball” with what I interpreted as an appreciative chuckle
There you go, if Giles had just gotten Macias to Second, we would be ahead…
Yeah! Bullpen ABs!
Yo Adrian. Lets get this run home.
156:
you mean like….uhhhghuhuhg, uhuhuh….you said ‘ball’
sitrep: Padres have two men on (1st and 2nd) w/2 out. Yost going to the pen. AGon is up.
Yost with a Loogy.
El Hombre gets it done!!!! 3-2 Padres!
AGON COMES THROUGH! SINGLE SCORES THE RUN
YES!!!
165: THanks!! I’m still at one out in the top of the 7th…
Go AG! Texas have any All-Star-caliber players we could trade a bullpen arm & washed up starter for?
168: Kouz is still hitting for me. Boy, I hope he comes through…
170, let us know…
171: And he does! Line drive single to center! Looks like Yost is bringing in the LOOGY to face Adrian.
172: I’m just getting to Agon’s at bat…
172-3, do tell… we’re on the edge of our seats
The Phillies are trying their best to give their fans seizures. 4-0 Nats…
Phillies turn to implode…
Let’s hope they end up tied.
Hey Friberg – must be nice to be able to watch the game.
YES! ADRIAN! Wooooo!
Sorry Marsh, I couldn’t help myself, I wasn’t tryin’ to dig to harshly, just some friendly barbs. I hope they’re taken as lightly as they were intended.
171 That’s a classic too…
No worries!
Ok, I think I’m up to date now. Brocail has come in to face Bill Hall?
182, thats where we are
Did Matt V just say that KT has made bullpen strength a priority since moving into Petco? I think KT sprung from the womb looking for under-appreciated relievers with good peripherals.
Hehe. Fox just showed Garvey’s HR in game 4 of the ’84 NLCS. Never gets old
Petco FIELD?
Ladies & Gents, I give you the second coming of Jerry Coleman, Eric Karros.
AG is sure keeping that foot on base an extra long time… I wonder why…
Wow! Zelasko & Kennedy talking over each-other and did I see Kennedy shoot an evil stare her way as they were leaving the update segment?
188 – did anyone else see that? or am I making much-ado about nothing?
187- He must have accidentally put on his sticky shoes…
I can’t think of another reason…
6 outs to go, team!
188: So, yes, I saw exactly what you meant
188: I saw it.
I know he’s a fomer Padre, but I’ve never liked Kennedy – or Zelasko for that matter…
“Wasn’t a lot of expectations”? On Bell or the Padres? What did Karros mean there?
You mean Jeanne “sports update lady on XTRA Sports 690″ Zelasko?…she’s quite a Padre fan (or used to be)…
194. I think in general FOX makes some curious choices about on-air talent for baseball broadcasts. Most convincing evidence of course: Tim McCarver. Shudder.
is Karros even aware that the Padres have won the NL West two years in a row and is still alive for a third? Seriously, for being a San Diego native he sure doesn’t know ____.
Another piece of advice for Bud Black. I know he has not had luck recently when physically restraining his players, but if for any reason a dog-pile forms in the next two or three days, keep Peavy out of it at all costs. But use a taser or something.
Re Matty & Karros’ Linebrink discussion:
The Padres have given up 115 HR (16 less than the next closest NL team) – Scott gave up 9 in 45 IP while he was in SD.
