If Boston does sign Andruw (I don’t think there’s any chance of it), we should trade for Ellsbury.
58: Numbers which translate to acceptable but hardly great production for a rookie. That’s not to run Ellsbury down, but they’re in baseball’s toughest division, or second-toughest between the AL Central. They haven’t gotten the power they expected from Ortiz or Drew, even Manny has slipped.
I don’t know who we have that would interest them. Ellsbury would make a very valuable backup OF.
You know, a changeup might be an outstanding pitch for Jake.

A 2 month skid of hitting .250 isn’t exactly a clear sign that he is a career .265 “at best”. I’m not saying he’s a going to be a career .300 hitter I have no clue what he’s going to hit, it’s his 2nd season. Cut the guy some freaking slack dude the entire team is in the gutter offensively and has been all season. How many games did Adrian win for us at the begining of the season? Piling on a 2nd year player that was great last year and started of great again but has struggled for late is kind of idiotic IMO.

The game is not on on the MLBtv schedule today. The Padres are on a lot more often than last year, but still not on the schedule for every game.
I can’t stand Byrnes either. According to Win Shares, he is actually the best player in the NL this season, based on his great fielding in left and that Arizona is a pitcher’s park. But I think his hustle is false and his hair is stupid and he is always doing those “reporting” stints on Fox that someone must think are so clever. He’s also 31, and this will probably be his career year.
I don’t see why any team would want Johnny Damon or Andruw Jones. They are not good right now. The Yankees already paid for past performance once with Damon.
