Went and watched Rush Hour 3 on Saturday. Wait till it comes out on cable. As Morrissey says, “that joke isn’t funny anymore.”
On another note, the Padres have played 116 games this year. For reference, here are their best records at this point in the season throughout history:
- 1998: 75-41
- 1984: 69-47
- 1992: 64-52
- 1982: 62-54
1985: 62-54
2004: 62-54
2007: 62-54
We’re still in good shape here, folks. Let’s take the series…
“Now if you’re a Red’s player right now and you were involved in that play, you should be embarrassed.” -Red’s announcer.
Hahaha, they’re intentionally walking OG. Boooooo! Give him his chance to hit more homers! He’s not going to get many more the rest of the year.
49: Its hard to ask a guy to stop having fun playing baseball. We just gotta hope he doesnt hurt himself.
And now the Reds announcers are on some tangent talking about Phil Nevin. The poor guy is taking crap when he hasn’t been on the team in 3 years..
Okay, this is a classic trouble inning for Jake… he just ran the bases aggressively and now…. (crossing fingers)…..
When did Carmelo Martinez st art playing left?
What the hell was that?
#56: It’s okay; he only has trouble with fly balls.
Ugh.
#53: Hard, but not impossible.
#55: Yep, here it comes. This looks a lot like the day game against the Snakes at Petco earlier in the season.
60: That error in left most likely wont help Jakes intensity.
60: That’s exactly the game I was thinking of I think… when he hit the triple and then fell apart….
#62: Thankfully, he gets out of it this time.
Could had been worse, we just gotta hang on. Hopefully we can depend on the ‘pen
I’d like to see us pick up a couple insurance runs here.
Great job by Cammy to take that ball the other way.
Nice triple by Cam
Gotta get Cameron in here and get a run back.
Brutal AB by Adrian. Nobody up in the ‘pen; looks like we get another inning out of Jake. More runs would be real nice right about now.
Awful AB by Gonzo there
Khalil comes through again. He is having a terrific day.
Khalil has had a couple of very nice games this week
Khalil’s having himself a fine day at the dish. In fact, he’s had a great series.
Nice bloop by KG to score the run
74: Bloop? That was a solid “single” that became a double.
it would be nice if we could get any sort of consistancy from him down the stretch
Nice hustle out of the box by Mackowiak.
75: Looked like a bloop single to me, they were playing Greene pretty deep and with Dunn in LF anything an turn into a double.
Damn, looked to be a fairly quick inning for Jake too
well that makes that hit by Khalil a whole lot bigger…
Wish we could do things the easy way just once..
#77: He shot the gap. Not sure which Dunn you’ve been watching this weekend, but the one I’m seeing has made some real strong throws.
Meanwhile, Jake is done. Here’s hoping Bell can put out the fire…
C’mon Heat!
Damnit! Khalil’s gotta make a better throw.
83: Of course, if he doesn’t get to it, it’s a run. So I guess I can’t complain too much. Plus, it really looked like Adrian’s foot was on the bag.
….and breathe. We gotta put up some more runs. Nothing feels safe in this ballpark.
#80: Where is the fun in that?
Wow that was scary
81: Strong throws yes, but he has misplayed nearly every ball hit to him. Shooting the gap to me seems like it should be a line drive, I saw a bloop, but hey I’m watching it on MLB.tv so what do I know
The Dodgers are getting pounded again in St. Louis, 8-2 in the fourth.
Wow, B. Giles was intentionally walked twice today, that matches his total for the year.
Is Geoff Blum really one of our three best hitters? Why is he batting second?
C’mon Cameron. All I’m asking for is a single. That’s it.
91: To answer my own question, he’s not. Cameron is a better hitter. Why isn’t Cameron hitting second?
Yuck.
91: .342/.414/.434/.848 since the ASB, Bud is going with the hot bat I guess
93: I guess it didnt really matter anyway
96: Well, Blum probably shouldn’t be hitting in the top five spots, but yeah.
Thank you, Adam Dunn. Weak grounder on the first pitch. We’ll take it.
#97: The scary thing is that since May 1, only Brian Giles has a higher OBP than Blum for the Padres.
97: Well most of our roster shouldnt be hitting in the top five spots either haha .
