It’s amazing to think that these two pitchers have combined to win 308 games in the big leagues. What’s that? Tom Glavine accounts for 301 of those? Yes, I know. I’m sorry, did you have a point?
Great play by Adrian, terrible call by 1B umpire. Damn.
Beltran up with two on instead of us being out of the inning because of a blown call. That’s just crap.
Mets announcers on XM saying it was a bad call
This is a joke. How can an umpire blow a call like that with everything right in front of him?
Ball one was close and after they screwed us to extend the inning, that would have been nice to have.
Great inning by Germano. Gets four outs, strikes out Beltran with two runners on, only real hit is an infield single, four grounders and the K in the inning. Very nice.
Beltran not happy with strike three call. Oh well…
Bad call by the ump, but if Kouz made a better throw the call wouldn’t be an issue. Nice K though.
Umpire was blocked by the bag. He should have at least asked one of the other umps if they had a better view. He’ll hear about it from somebody that he blew the call.
Nicely done by Germano. The umpire put him in a real bad spot.
58: He made a good enough throw to get the out. That was entirely on the umpire.
A hit by NOG!
Nice work tonite with the bats by the Pads.
Can Bard make it to third on a sacrifice?
#63: Yes.
Alright, MB with bases loaded. Let’s go Milty!!
Jenga!
Way to go Milty!!!
Can someone venture an opinion on why our lineup looks so much better with Jenga in the lineup?
#68: Ummm…’cause he can hit with runners on and not double up?
#68: The ‘L’ in Milton and in Bradley isn’t silent?
68: Because he’s been hitting like Babe Ruth since his arrival here?
#69: Easy way out. It just seems like everyone hits better and pitchers take a different approach with him in the lineup than when he’s not and I’m not sure why.
Matt and Mud keep talking about how “It’s a much different lineup with Milton Bradley.” If that’s the case, why?
#68: He has a *Monopoly* on *Jenga*?
72: He threatens to bean them with a water bottle if they don’t take their at-bats seriously?
Shakespeare! Looks like a line drive in the box score.
Unless GameDay is wrong, how does Bard take that pitch to RF? Totally sawed off and lucky?
Milton Bradley is by far the best hitter on this team. There’s a huge drop off from him to Giles and then there’s a pretty good sized drop from Giles to Gonzalez and Cameron.
I love “In play, runs” with a man on first.
#72: It’s a sub-conscience thing for the rest of the line-up. He raises the bar to his level. It’s like playing golf with Phil Mickelson. You’d take twice as long to line up a put.
Nice NOG!!!!
Botched squeeze…
NOG reclaiming his job.
#76: Pop up to second, infield was playing in and the ball dropped untouched.
Thanks for the insights, and the one-liners. And to think there’s no cover charge!
I’m not sure that was really interference.
Missed bunt? Germano can swing it a little, no need to get too tricky here.
GameDay has the two pitches to Germano halfway into the other batter’s box.
#85: Squeeze attempt on a pitchout. Germano missed and momentum carried him into Alomar.
So I’m guessing there never was a second pitch.
#87: Just checked the replay. Correct, only one pitch.
Wright with a Little League error. Thanks.
Khalil’s approach has been great tonight. He’s laid off some tough pitches and gone the other way when the situation dictated it. More, please!
Why is Geoff Blum coming in on a double switch to play third base? Don’t we have someone that can actually hit on the bench, like, say Morgan Ensberg? And it’s even a lefty on the mound currently, and it seems likely he’ll throw another inning.
That hurts with only one out.
Sigh. Poor defense, poor bullpen work…
Kouz has really stunk it up at third of more than late. Maybe the scouting reports were right.
Uh-oh, it’s Marlon Anderson time.
Good Lord.
Pretty sure Anderson is my least favorite player ever.
How much meat has Cla served this year ?
Meriadith just gave this game away in one inning.
I seriously was typing up a joke about how we should intentionally walk Marlon Anderson, because if we didn’t he would homer here.
I blame the walk to Alou for all of this. The bases were loaded, and Alou is right handed, which are the guys Meredith is supposed to destroy, and he walks him to force in a run.
