I could really use a win tonight. Go Padres!
Picking up where last year's version left off, the Ducksnorts 2008 Baseball Annual provides in-depth analysis of and commentary on the San Diego Padres. Get your copy today.
April 26, 2007 at 5:55 pm
Cool, the technical problems are fixed. Lets hope the bullpen holds up. They must free really bad about last night in particular, but sheet happens. Win the series, Padres.
April 26, 2007 at 5:56 pm
Cedric (The Great) 0-for-3 so far tonight … http://web.minorleaguebaseball.....x_wisafx_1 … now batting below .300 … just fyi …

April 26, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Good way to start off a game!!!
April 26, 2007 at 6:42 pm
if you aren’t ready for the start of the Padres on the road..it’s very easy to miss NOG’s at bats
April 26, 2007 at 6:44 pm
A-Gon! That is nice.
April 26, 2007 at 6:45 pm
I’ll take that!!! Way to go Adriaaaan!
April 26, 2007 at 6:46 pm
El Hombre!
April 26, 2007 at 6:51 pm
Chris Young retires Chris Young.
April 26, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Nice to see Adrian get us going early. No better way to pick the team up from last nite than that.
April 26, 2007 at 6:52 pm
El Hombre!
April 26, 2007 at 6:54 pm
After 1st …
Pitches-strikes - C Young 12-7; L Hernandez 20-10.
Ground balls-fly balls - C Young 2-1; L Hernandez 2-0.
Batters faced - C Young 3; L Hernandez 6.
April 26, 2007 at 6:56 pm
We need to slam them with runs and avoid a repeat of last night.
Re: “Chris Young retires Chris Young.”
It really would’ve been wierd in the 70’s if they said “Rollie Fingers retires Rollie Fingers.”
April 26, 2007 at 6:57 pm
Did KK get good wood on that ball?
April 26, 2007 at 6:57 pm
Hey guys
just clicked on the score before I go to bed . . . Adrian with another jack! That is sweet!
April 26, 2007 at 6:59 pm
KK squared up on that ball nicely.
Man I really hate the Dbacks broadcast
April 26, 2007 at 7:00 pm
2 - Nice outing by Nate Culp tonight for Ft. Wayne … 8 IP 4 H 0 ER 1 BB 7 Ks … 1.46 ERA on the season … Nate was 2006 4th round pick out of U of Mo …
April 26, 2007 at 7:01 pm
#14: What Phantom said. Nice pass by Kouz. Did a good job staying back on the pitch. Didn’t lunge.
April 26, 2007 at 7:02 pm
Can you imagine “Hells Bells” on an organ when Trevor comes to the mound?
April 26, 2007 at 7:04 pm
3 … Tim Brown with HR #5 for AA San Antonio … dude’s a power hitter (I saw him hit one during spring training that was mamoth) … Josh Geer tonight? Not so good …
April 26, 2007 at 7:04 pm
Where did he NOT go on that?!
April 26, 2007 at 7:05 pm
Anyone else experiencing some spotty ass service tonite from MLB.TV? My stupid feed will just shut down the player for no reason.
April 26, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Tony Clark is a large man.
April 26, 2007 at 7:06 pm
AAA Beavers taking advantage of true-babyBack’s errors down the road in Tucson tonight … http://web.minorleaguebaseball.....a_tucaaa_1 … up 4-0 after 1st …
April 26, 2007 at 7:08 pm
How long till Drew is a free agent? I’m ready for him to leave the division now.
April 26, 2007 at 7:09 pm
23 … if you go to mlb.com and watch the video reply of Montero’s HR last night, you can see what looks to be Tony Clark patting Montero on the head after he crosses home plate … and you can see that, indeed, Tony Clark is a *large man*!
April 26, 2007 at 7:10 pm
Isn’t CY supposed to not give up runs.
April 26, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Someone should thank Quentin for swinging at ball four there. Hopefully CY makes him pay for that.
April 26, 2007 at 7:12 pm
Have we thrown anyone out all year?
April 26, 2007 at 7:15 pm
Uh-oh, this is getting ugly.
April 26, 2007 at 7:16 pm
29 … do you OF assist? Funny you should ask … while I was over at mlb.com, I checked to see if they fixed the video of Cruz throwing Helton out at the plate a coupla days ago … and they have … you can see it at this link … http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com.....;ym=200704 … under April 21st …
April 26, 2007 at 7:16 pm
This is not good.
April 26, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Good thing we only used two relievers last night.
April 26, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Bowen really doesn’t impress me much as a catcher.
April 26, 2007 at 7:18 pm
CY’s got nothing tonite.
He just does not look a bit as dominating as he was all last year.
April 26, 2007 at 7:18 pm
This start reminds me of Hensley’s home start against the Giants.
April 26, 2007 at 7:20 pm
31: Sorry, should have been more clear. I meant: have we thrown out anyone trying to steal 2nd base this year?
April 26, 2007 at 7:20 pm
All things considered, CY was fortunate to escape with only three runs against him.
April 26, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Why is it that two of our guys who looked so great last year (Hensley and Young) have struggled so mightily this year? Ideas?
April 26, 2007 at 7:23 pm
Phantom,
I was experiencing terrible service last night, didn’t see any of Peavy’s Ks.
I’m watching on DirecTV tonight though.
April 26, 2007 at 7:24 pm
Thru 2 full …
Pitches-strikes - C Young 46-27; L Hernandez 29-16.
Ground balls-fly balls - C Young 2-3; L Hernandez 3-2.
Batters faced - C Young 10; L Hernandez 9.
… edge: D-backs
April 26, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Our last run to score was the 100th for the season.
April 26, 2007 at 7:31 pm
Whoa, Khalil actually called that one
April 26, 2007 at 7:33 pm
CY looks a lot better this inning. Credit him with weathering a rough patch and not letting it get out of hand in the 2nd.
April 26, 2007 at 7:34 pm
Thru 3 full …
Pitches-strikes - C Young 59-36; L Hernandez 39-22.
Ground balls-fly balls - C Young 2-5; L Hernandez 6-2.
Batters faced - C Young 13; L Hernandez 13.
… 2 outta 3 ain’t bad?
April 26, 2007 at 7:38 pm
I’m so glad that we have decided to let Livan settle in. This guy couldn’t find the plate, and now we are swinging at everything.
April 26, 2007 at 7:39 pm
Yeah, the offense has suddenly grown very cold. Hopefully KG can keep his hititng streak alive later and that some of the boys heat up.
April 26, 2007 at 7:40 pm
Time to start thinking about the bullpen?
April 26, 2007 at 7:40 pm
It seems like Tony Clark is always hitting homeruns against us. Not a bad pitch either.
April 26, 2007 at 7:42 pm
48: I was going to say no but that last pitch was a meatball. CY has been talking to himself tonight, he doesn’t usually do that.
April 26, 2007 at 7:43 pm
We are not looking sharp tonite at all.
April 26, 2007 at 7:44 pm
50: He’s been pacing the backside of the mound as well.
April 26, 2007 at 7:44 pm
God we have to start hitting. CY is not going to help us out tonite.
April 26, 2007 at 7:48 pm
The WPs are a bad indicator … bully up!
April 26, 2007 at 7:49 pm
CY again lucky to get off so easily that inning.
April 26, 2007 at 7:50 pm
The Storm also off to a good start tonight … http://web.minorleaguebaseball.....a_modafa_1 … up 4-0 after 1 … big hit: a 2-run single by Matt Bush …
April 26, 2007 at 7:50 pm
We really gotta get the bats rolling. We need this game to have some momentum going into the series this weekend.
April 26, 2007 at 7:50 pm
That, and the Dodgers are already up 2-0.
April 26, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Anthony … what you’ve done with the GD data for Buerle’s no-no is a BLAST to look at … http://www.friarwatch.com/2007.....no-hitter/ … THANKS!
April 26, 2007 at 7:52 pm
55: Lucky indeed. Chase Field is not kind to a flyball pitcher with control problems. It could be a lot worse.
Is he really going to let CY hit?
April 26, 2007 at 7:53 pm
59: Thanks! I was actually expecting it to show a big strike zone for Buehrle. Impressive that he did it with a fair zone.
April 26, 2007 at 7:54 pm
Poor Rob, that’s a terrible K call.
April 26, 2007 at 7:54 pm
60: Is there anyone even up in the pen?
April 26, 2007 at 7:54 pm
24 … Germano with 5 *very* nice innings so far for Beavers tonight …
April 26, 2007 at 7:57 pm
Can OG capitalize on this?
April 26, 2007 at 7:57 pm
65: Nope.
April 26, 2007 at 7:59 pm
I just am not sensing a whole lot of fight out of the guys tonite. I don’t know why, but I just don’t see the fire.
April 26, 2007 at 7:59 pm
66 … did he come close? Yahoo says “deep left” …
April 26, 2007 at 8:00 pm
68: About two feet in front of the wall, easy play for Byrnes.
April 26, 2007 at 8:01 pm
68: Very catchable.
April 26, 2007 at 8:03 pm
CY has been good in the odd numbered innings
April 26, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Bottom of 5th seemed like an “easy inning” …
Pitches-strikes - C Young 88-52; L Hernandez 64-35.
Ground balls-fly balls - C Young 4-9; L Hernandez 9-4.
Batters faced - C Young 21; L Hernandez 21.
April 26, 2007 at 8:06 pm
71: Maybe we should only play odd numbered innings….
April 26, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Greeney with the walk. Nice AB Khalil.
April 26, 2007 at 8:16 pm
Listening to the Storm game. Eric Young Jr. is batting for Modesto. I feel old.
April 26, 2007 at 8:17 pm
75: You already given up on this contest Geoff?
April 26, 2007 at 8:17 pm
CY done? Anybody up in pen? If not, should be …
April 26, 2007 at 8:18 pm
76 … I’ll bet not … he’s a multi-tasker
April 26, 2007 at 8:18 pm
Maybe you had the right idea after all.
April 26, 2007 at 8:20 pm
Watching the Pads on Channel 4, listening to the Storm via Internet with headphones on.
April 26, 2007 at 8:20 pm
Brocail up in the ‘pen. Maybe a little late for that?
April 26, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Brocail is up.
April 26, 2007 at 8:22 pm
81: Yeah, what’s the point of carrying 12 pitchers if you have a slow hook? That’s really been Black’s only negative this year, he leaves starters in too long.
April 26, 2007 at 8:23 pm
77 … any time now …
April 26, 2007 at 8:24 pm
83 … ‘cept for last night, I s’pose …
April 26, 2007 at 8:25 pm
85: Only if they’re getting hit. If they’re doing well he letss them go
April 26, 2007 at 8:25 pm
Kyle Blanks just stole second. That must’ve been terrifying for the guy covering.
April 26, 2007 at 8:28 pm
OK, I take 10 min. to walk over to the store to obtain some adult beverages and now it is 6-3? Grrrr.
April 26, 2007 at 8:29 pm
After 6 mostly-ugly innings …
Pitches-strikes - C Young 105-62; D Brocail 6-3; L Hernandez 81-42.
Ground balls-fly balls - C Young 4-9; D Brocail 1-1; L Hernandez 12-4.
Batters faced - C Young 25; D Brocail 2; L Hernandez 25.
April 26, 2007 at 8:29 pm
83: Black has stated that he likes to see guys try to get themselves out of jams.
I wouldn’t qualify a man on 1st as a jam, so take that as you will.
April 26, 2007 at 8:34 pm
Ugly game thus far.
April 26, 2007 at 8:37 pm
It’s a bad sign when the game is in the seventh inning and you’re reminiscing about the good old days — you know, back in the first inning…
April 26, 2007 at 8:39 pm
Hampson fits right in; he can’t hold runners either.
April 26, 2007 at 8:39 pm
Well, that was a drag …
April 26, 2007 at 8:41 pm
94: You are hereby fired for that pun.
Turn in your badge at the door, sir.
April 26, 2007 at 8:45 pm
Holy crap! We threw someone out!
April 26, 2007 at 8:45 pm
Eric Byrnes, interior decorator.
April 26, 2007 at 8:46 pm
I wonder how much the DBack org will fine Byrnes for that?
April 26, 2007 at 8:49 pm
Anyone got a rally cap … that works?
April 26, 2007 at 8:50 pm
97,98 … explain?
April 26, 2007 at 8:51 pm
Nice situational usage by Melvin. Doesn’t he know that Cheo kills lefties?
April 26, 2007 at 8:51 pm
Insult to injury. Byrnes gets a dbl hit in his corner.
April 26, 2007 at 8:52 pm
99 … I guess Cruz has a rally cap!
101 … “Cheo”?
April 26, 2007 at 8:52 pm
100: You didn’t see the Byrnes tyraid? He went off on the base coach and then threw a tantrum in the dugout.
April 26, 2007 at 8:53 pm
C’mon boys, only chasing 3…
April 26, 2007 at 8:54 pm
103: See 4sd.com/blog… Cheo is the nickname for guys named Jose
April 26, 2007 at 8:54 pm
So much for that rally.
April 26, 2007 at 8:55 pm
#100: Byrnes got a horrible jump on a stolen base attempt and was thrown out easily at second. As he came off the field, he had words for the third-base coach, slammed his helmet and punched a water cooler or two.
April 26, 2007 at 8:55 pm
104 … I’m “watching” on yahoo … I’m in Oregon … haven’t the bandwidth &/or $ for mlb.tv …
103 … I s’pose “Cheo” is aka “Jose” … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheo_Feliciano … as in, in this case, Cruz …
April 26, 2007 at 8:57 pm
64 … Germano got the W tonight for the Beavers … with 7 nice IP …
