Padres (25-37) vs Mets (30-29)
Randy Wolf vs Johan Santana

The last time Johan Santana faced the Padres, he served up a homer to Dave Roberts (the last time Roberts took a southpaw yard) and lost to Darrell May in what appears to be the final victory of the latter’s big-league career. Baseball is a strange game…
Fun fact: Brian Giles normally comes to the plate accompanied by the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Scar Tissue.” When Wolf pitches, though, he uses Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London.”
Randy. nice job.
The Wolf survives! Lock him in TD. That 1/2 inning cost an entire beer! Back to the mini-fridge. Whew…
#103@Turbine Dude: I provide oppisite mojo.
Now use Bell and Hoffman and get the win.
#102@Turbine Dude: He’s got my vote in the Post Game Show!! So, now we’ll see Brian (1946 Buick grill mouth) Corey. Doesn’t ruin my day. Thank God it’s not Meredith.
Fresh meat, git ‘em Barrett.
#96@Kevin: I have a bunch of cousins that went there (they are from Wilmington) and one that unfortunately went to UNC (and one to ECU).
I went to UCI and I’m amazed at how well their program is doing — they were cut because of Title IX (d’oh!) at the same time as men’s track & field and cross-country although we came back immediately. It took baseball until 2000 to start up again there.
#58@130tom330: What are the stats on the # of TD post vs. the W/L columns?
#65@130tom330: Scotty’s gonna get one here. Having too good a night not to.
Seeing eye shot by Scotty.
Yesssssss!!!! 3-4, killin’ it on D. Jody might be a bit concerned…
Scotty not looking to bad at 3 for 4 tonight!
#108@130tom330: Dude, you need a kegerator. I fill up a two pints at a time to cut down on travel time to the kitchen.
I am so proud going into a series where I was afraid we would be embarrassed (with very good reason) , that we are actually leading in the 2nd game after taking the 1st one (regardless of fashion). I was at last nights game and I absolutely loved the shocked look on the Mets fans afterwards. Justice!
OT: Geoff, I am wondering if it is time for a new poll. Maybe something to do with the draft or something else topical? Hope I am not beating you to the punch on something you are working on.
Also OT: I am liking the new filth filter. I have never seen one where you can see it if you want and ignore if you choose. Very nice addition.
Another good play by Scotty! Okay, gonna jump off his jock now. Here’s to hoping he make a game-winning/game-saving play tonite to solidify my position.
#118@Turbine Dude: FDRs doctor told him to cut down to two martinis a day. He doubled the glass size, and followed doctors orders.
S-T-R-E-T-C-H and get another beer!
Yet another quality start for a Padres starter. The Padres lead all of baseball in quality starts.
#118@Turbine Dude: Finding the beer is the easy part,,, What I need to do is figure out a way to conceal the mini-fridge in the living room so the boss doesn’t gripe about how “frat-boy” a fridge in the living room looks.
Man, this one is a nailbiter. Whoever loses this game is gonna have a LOT to think about tonight. Great game (so far).
#121@parlo: FDR was a wise, wise man. Must have needed a few martini’s, you ever get a look at his Mrs?
#124@130tom330: If you do it right, a kegerator looks as if it belongs there. Mini-fridges are “frat-boy.” Only a career man can boast of having his own keg without throwing a party.
Is that the guy who was hit earlier? Oh My
Nice in between hop grab by EGon!
Are we actually going to win for the third night in a row 2-1. How good is this pitching staff anyway ?
Imagine if we actually had an offense.
EGone stepped up there!
#130@JP: JP, that’s called Christmas/Hannuka.
#130@JP: Nah – we’ll score three here.
Good stuff E-Go!!!!!! Hang a star!
BTW, you guys hear about Jerry Coleman’s book signing tomorrow? Barnes & Noble in Mira Mesa, 12pm/ It’s a great book, scattered stories, just like the Colonel in real life. I recommend it to anybody who admires the sacrifices a vet has made for their quality of life
#127@Turbine Dude: Your gonna take the little ladies side! If I had that much beer on call, I’d probably have to quit my job! (ah, a man can dream…)
#121@parlo: Churchill stumbled out of a pub and bumped into a woman. She said “You sir, are drunk!” and he responded “Yes madam, and you are ugly. However, in the morning, I shall be sober.”
#136@Turbine Dude: “Never, never, never give up!
-Winston Churchill
#135@130tom330: Nah. My wife bought mine for me. Just good economics.
#138@Turbine Dude: says Turbine Dude to the Economics teacher… “All I want for x-mas is ______!”
KG with a hit…
Too bad we now have to watch Tony Clark end the inning.
#139@130tom330: A tasty wave and a cool buzz.
Bring on Schowenweiss!
Ah ha, this guy again! This should be good, the NY papers probably tore him apart this morning.
It would be nice to TC catch one. I can’t count how many HRs I have watched him hit off the bench against us.
#136@Turbine Dude: I am still laughing.
Oh, this should be interesting…
#141@Turbine Dude:… and a kegerator!
#147@130tom330: LOL, yeah.
ugly swing by Clark
#140@Sebastian Callahan: On to that even in the middle of a NZ winter, eh?
Well that’s it. Trevor Time!!
It’s Trevor ‘scare the hell out of me now’ Time.
#150@130tom330: Snow was more enticing then watching the rest of the game so he’s headed out…
Just the “old fogy” left to watch the ninth…
Pls. don’t get me wrong. I love Trevor and will be one of the first to buy a brick when he gets his statue…but…well.
Ahhhhh, FOTFLOL! “A Kooze kousey!” Luv it, somewhere out there is a marketing genius! Been waiting all season for one of those. I’ll trade anyone all 3 giveaway hats for one of those any day!
#153@Sebastian Callahan: Of course it would help if I changed the name…
Death…
