I never noticed how severe Peavy’s lefty-righty splits are:

  vs RHB vs LHB
Statistics are courtesy of Baseball-Reference and are through games of May 13, 2008.
2007 .174 .228 .251 .242 .314 .372
2008 .174 .231 .248 .268 .351 .451
career .216 .271 .332 .247 .322 .423

For his career, Peavy turns righties into Juan Castro; lefties hit him more like Graig Nettles or Ruppert Jones. Guess that’s probably why he’s been working on the change-up…

  2. Whoa!! Back the truck up! He hit that ball fair and he ran into the ball, he’s f-ing out!

  3. You people deserted me early!

  4. #53@Turbine Dude: Sorry dude. Catch you tomorrow.

  5. Guessing by Turbine Dude’s comments we lost. Win manana and we’re even.

  6. Not trying to be negative here, but what are our odds of getting a player on the All Star team outside of the rule that says we have to have one (Agone)?

  7. #56@Oside Jon: 100 percent, since that rule exists.

  8. This story says Edmonds was a clubhouse cancer in San Diego. Is that why they some games?

  9. lost some games, that is. It couldn’t have helped.

  10. Cubs signed Edmonds…

I blame this loss on Buddy… I blame a lot of this season on Buddy. Like someone said before. He bad decisions are magnified when we arent playing well.

  11. The umpire was awful tonight. He called more than one pitch in the opposite batter’s box a strike.
