    But I can’t. National blackout.

Why do I pay $100 per year? The day that the game won’t keep me up until 1 in the morning and I can’t watch. Stupid MLB.com.

They need to get their frigg’n product better.

#27@Coronado Mike: I hear ya, but its really not their fault. Fox has the exclusive rights to the games there isnt much they can do about it. I dont know if its blocked out for MLB extra innings too. If the seldom fox broadcast of the Padres makes you that upset, maybe you should look into the extra innings package and see if they black out these games. I turned on fox to the Angels as well. I’d rather watch the draft than the Angels.

It is just another thing that MLB marketing messes up…I think. Although, the only guys that would complain about it are the ones who are baseball fans…real ones that won’t stop frequenting the product just because it is marketed badly.

Sometimes being a baseball fan sucks.

Here’s a way to chime in on a group-think look at the question of “Is Trevor Done?” …

    http://www.predictify.com/auctionview.aspx?ID=3873

The question for the group is this: What will be the ratio of the number of Saves + Wins that Trevor Hoffman, pitcher for the San Diego Padres, gets credited with versus the number of Blown Saves + Losses that Trevor Hoffman gets credited with, during the month of May, 2008?

You have until the end of April to weigh in … so far, 19 folks have predicted … and the distribution of preditions so far is pretty mixed.

We’ll see if this helps us learn anything …

#35@Coronado Mike: I really dont think its marketed badly. They never market that you can watch EVERY out of market game. I have it too. When you purchase it, they tell you the blackout restrictions there are really no surprises. I am not enjoying that I cant watch it on MLB.tv but I understand it. I have been 100% satisfied with MLB.tv this year. It have been 10 time better than years past.

Is it still top of 13? Gamecast is so slow I think…

Let me know when you get the keg hooked up and I’ll be right over to help drink it. I’m sure we’ll all still be here when you get back..

    Way to go, Ta-Da-Hi-To!!!

Made sitting through 14 innings with no TV feed here in Temecula worth it!

That was a rough outing for Germano, but the bullpen did a fine job and the 8 runs were pretty nice, too.

    #90@Turbine Dude:

    Sidearmers, with career ERA+:

    Dan Quisenberry (146)

    Kent Tekulvey (132)

    Jeff Nelson (132)

    Dennis Eckersley (116)

    Scott Sullivan (113)

None of them were one or two or even three season wonders. They all had solid careers. Cla will almost certainly never repeat his 2006, but he still gave us a 115 ERA+ last year.

I don’t see why a sidearmer would be limited to 2 pitches. There’s 3 just with varying grips: 2 seam FB, 4 seam FB, change. They can still snap their wrist, so a slider and even a screwball seem possible. Not much point to a curve because you’re not getting the vertical break along with the sideways.

#138@Tom Waits: Those would be submariners, not sidearmers.

#143@Kevin: Sidearm is the term Turbine Dude used. Tekulve and Quisenberry came from down under, but Nelson, Sullivan, and Eck were not knuckle-draggers.

So far, outside of Wil Venable, our top talent at the AAA has been a disappointment. Like last year, the Beavers are outmatched against top talents of other organizations.
