The Padres have outscored opponents, 17-6, over the first three innings of games this year. They’ve beeen outscored by the exact same number over the final three. The club also is hitting .313/.351/.406 with RISP, while the opposition is hitting .182/.262/.273 in those situations.
Man…..I’m in LA and craving for a Padre game. My customers today we’re talking Dodgers and Angels but were respectful of my Padres fan status. I’m thinking of buying the mlb pass or whatever it’s called so I can watch online. Any comments or suggestions?
MLB.tv is good… but you might be in a blackout zone for SoCal games… in Utah I can’t watch games involving AZ or CO… also it can be a drag if your internet connection is slow. you can check your blackout zone status and your connection speed on mlb’s website.
Johnny Utah,
Thanks for the quick and good response. Loading game right now. Hope it works. Checking blackout zone right now too. THANKS.
#3: Jon, are you on the road a lot?
Sweet. I got it.
#4 Rick, yes. More than last year. Away 6 nights a month. Not a lot but enough to hinder watching games. Any help? Slingbox?
Like what I’m seeing so far.
A foot to either side there and that’s an inning ending double play by Gonzalez.
#6: That’s what I was thinking (Slingbox).
mlbtv is good…I had it 2 seasons ago when a lot of the Pads games were blacked out on directv and as long as you have a good connection it works pretty well.
nice start for Wolf..
Wolf looking good early…
I like the pace at which Wolf is working. Get the ball from the catcher, throw it, repeat. Keep everyone on their toes.
MLBtv is a lifesaver for us displaced Padres fans. I’m not going to be back in San Diego for at least another 5 years, so it’s lots of internet watching until then.
OT: I gotta give a high five to Bob Scanlan. He’s got a thing now called “ask Scan.” You can e-mail him questions and he’ll use some on air during the pre-game. Isent him a couple of questions and he replied within a day with very well thought out answers.
#15: E-mail is askscan@cox.net
Looks like the best strategy tonight is going to be take until two strikes, score runs off of the Giants bullpen.
17: Not giving up home-runs would also be a nice touch to that strategy…
Nice catch Kouzzzzz.
Nice one Kouz!
18: Well that was more of an offensive gameplan. My defensive one would be, don’t give up hits, or walks, or runs.
21: I like the way you think. Have you ever thought of managing?
Looks like Wolf was hit hard in the 2nd. Only one run to show for it though.
Bocock has made a couple of snazzy plays at ss.
I think I would amend my defensive gameplan to include not walking on four pitches the guy that couldn’t hit single A pitching.
Rowen has a goofy opening stance at the plate.
I like Rowand. I wish the Pads had picked him up instead of Edmonds.
#27: I’m inclined to agree with you. Sorry I mis-typed Rowand’s name. I’m not that impressed with Edmonds.
That’s right, Lincecum. Listen to the Giants announcers. Stop striking guys out. Pitch to contact.
Ha! Bocock doesn’t have a third sparkling play up his sleeve.
#30: No, just snot on it! LOL
And Gagne blows another one.
Man….I leave to get Subway and we’re down 2 runs…..All my fault. ha ha.
#33: Jon, don’t ever leave or eat again!
More eight pitch innings, please.
impressive inning… let’s get some runs boys
How ’bout some runs?!
ok…I guess we’ll wait for the next inning to get some runs..
So can we turn on Iguchi now after that terrible, terrible at bat?
Nice pick off by Wolf.
As I wait for Lincecum to leave the game so the fun can begin, I have a random question: Does anyone know what happened to Danny Payne? I have higher hopes for him than Bradley Chalk as far as our “gamer” CF prospects, but I have noticed that Chalk is getting all of the PT in Ft. Wayne. Is he hurt? I expected them to split time at Ft. Wayne since they are effectively blocked by Cedric Hunter for the time being at Lake Elsinore.
27: Rowand is not worth anywhere near what SF paid for him. It was a good move, imo, for the Pads not to get involved in that sort of bidding. Not that I’m endorsing Edmonds, mind you.
How ’bout an extra base hit, now?
42: Agreed. Rowand is vastly overpaid by the Giants and is under contract for way too long.
OUCH!
Padres are actually sporting a higher wOBA in this game than the Giants are (.338 to .336). And yet they trail by 2.
come on guys … lets go !!
45: Yeah, that one hurt to watch.
make them pay GY!!
make them pay KG!! Freudian slip….said GY!!!
