    A good nickname opens doors…

Bud Black on the 1090 pregame show a few minutes ago: “We feel very strongly about Kouz.”

To which he might then have added: “”Nudge nudge, wink wink, know what I mean, know what I mean, say no more, say no more!”

Or Jerry could have replied: “Yes, and even at my age!” ;-)

I like CY throwing over to first a bunch of times. Maybe Bonds will tweak a hammy or something while scampering back those three feet.

Anyhow, what I need is to find this game I remember watching as a kid. I still remember it as the greatest game I ever saw. It was at the Murph, and it was against a non-division opponent I think, either the cubs or Mets. The last inning Steve Finley, who also scored the only run, robbed the second batter of a game tying homerun, and went over the wall to get it. Final score, pads 1- opponent-0. Anyone able to help me?

  420. Posted April 9, 2007 at 9:59 pm | Permalink

I’m enjoying this so much I think I’ll post a few more of the great comments over on the Giants blog. Stop me if this gets annoying…

“You know who has to be really upset? Clay Hensley.

Since he’s the only guy to lose to this clown show of a lineup, I expect him to be extra motivated tomorrow. In other words, we’ll score no runs on negative two hits.”

“It’s about time for Grant to post a the picture of a cute animal and threaten to kill it if the Giants fail to score/lose again.

I vote for a puppy. Kitten’s already been done.”

“Cain’s going to finish his career with a 89-201 record with a 2.92 ERA if he stays on this team. I just know it.”

“We’d be pretty good if we didn’t suck so bad.”

One last comment before I head off to bed…

I really hope mlb.com has for one of their highlights that match up between Cla and Bonds. That was as impressive and as incredible of a moment as any diving catch or well hit ball.

ANOTHER GREAT GAME! ANOTHER GREAT IGD! SEE YE’ALL TOMORROW!

For those keeping track…ESPN news showed Bonds walking in the first but not striking out in the eighth. C’mon, get your marketing right… everyone outside of NoCal would rather see the Box strike out.

Richard, way to be… you’re saying what some of us are still thinking…

Word on Kouzmanoff? I’m sure will be better known tomorrow, might be day to day..

also Chris Young getting an extension and now word that Mike Cameron might get a deal… thoughts?

maybe that extra payroll mentioned a few days ago in the local papers is being used not only to get the amateurs but also lock up the players the Padres want to keep long term.
