For what it’s worth (probably not much), three men hit more homers off Bannister than did Barfield: Tom Brunansky, Gary Gaetti, and Dave Winfield. And it kills me that a guy older than Josh Barfield’s father beat the Padres Thursday night.
Maybe tonight will be better.

I don’t feel any scratching yet, just like I didn’t feel any when he had a hot April 2005 or a hot May 2003. If Nady can make the necessary adjustments and take advantage of the opportunities that he is now given in NY, which he did NOT do in SD, then more power to him. Color me a skeptic until I see sustained performance from him, and get back to me in August, when GY and I will revisit this again.
Don’t be surprised, though, if he has an overall poor series at Petco.
Carlos Beltran might go on the DL with a hammy strain from last ngiht’s game..
I guess PETCO Park isn’t his kinda park.

Yes, Rich, great start from Woody. I sure hope this is a sign of things to come for him.
And don’t forget that Woody’s start was against one of the better lineups in baseball, even without Beltran. This was a great win.
