Oops, wrong blog. Let’s try again: Get guys on base. Drive ‘em in.

  1. Speaking in strictly mathematical terms; what are the odds we score 4 or 5 runs by the ninth inning ? I am trying to keep emotion out of this.

  2. http://www3.signonsandiego.com/news/2008/apr/24/beyond-box-score-42408/

Through Thursday night, the Padres had played 220 innings on the season. They had scored in 43 of those innings or 19.5 percent — or an average of 1.75 innings per nine innings.

We have a 60% chance of scoring one run in the next three innings…

  3. #51@parlo: 500 to 1.

  4. #52@Sean Callahan: #53@Richard D.: That’s pretty grim.

  5. Really, Iguchi has a better chance of getting a hit than Thatcher?

  6. #54@Turbine Dude: Have you seen our lineup lately? That’s grim.

  7. #55@Sean Callahan: Oops, I meant Ledezma… My reading skills are about as good as the Padres’ offensive skills these days.

  8. Tonight will be the night the bullpen gives up no runs…

  9. I’ll repeat my thought from last night…

    “This is embarassing.”

  10. Game over………….see ya later everyone.

  11. I feel like Randy Quade in the movie ‘Major League.’

  12. Or Bill Murray in ‘Groundhog Day’…

  13. #62@Turbine Dude: It was Major League 2, but point well taken.

    “You bunch of overpaid weenies!”

  14. #63@Sean Callahan: #64@Richard D.: You get the gist.

  15. OG’s transformation is complete – from power hitting corner outfielder to lead-off centerfielder…

  16. #62@Turbine Dude: Back up the truck.

  17. #67@Field39: Where is Sariano when we need him?

  18. Glass half full: The bullpen came through….

  19. Still awake!!! We lost!!! Awesome!!! See you manana for more of the same!!!

    Honestly, hopefully not.

    Greene 5BB, 20K
    hairston 7BB, 20K
    Edmonds 6BB, 20K
    Clark 3BB, 8K
    TEAM TOTALS: 81BB, 193K

  21. #62@Turbine Dude: I’m thinking of a line from major leauge but its not that one… I’ll give you a hint it had sub titles…

  22. I’m also tired of Bud Black, and all the players, constantly saying “we’re just not getting it done” and “we need to play better”. You know that will be the quote in the paper tomorrow.

Can someone on the team please get PISSED OFF and say “damn it, we’re tired of this… we’re tired of being boo’ed in our own ballpark… we’re going to fix this because we’re tired of getting our butts kicked.”

Our team just looks so mopey… with such a “golly, gee whiz” attitude… “oh well, we lost”…

If there ever was a time I miss Milton Bradley and his borderline pyschopathic personality, it’s now!

  23. “Bats, they are sick. I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar, rum. He will come. “

  24. I’m sick of hearing everyone say “you have to tip your cap to them.” When our hitters are struggling against the likes of Tim Lincecum but also Jonathan Sanchez, it’s clearly not a “tip your cap” situation. It’s clearly a case of LOFT, my new favorite acronym.

  25. #74@Field39: Its time for Khalil to say F-You Jobu I do it myself…

  26. Didn’t see the game but the score tells the story. Another run. at this rate me may get 162 runs this year. Sounds like the EPL.

  27. Should we now claim that it is unfair that we had to face 44 year old Randy Johnson twice this month.??? With no disrespect to the points made above,
    Lets put aside the:
    China trip
    22 inning game
    Cold marine air
NL West is the toughest division
    Petco dimensions
Andurew Jones (not an excuse, but a diversion)
    Funky winds at Petco
This team has serious problems!!!!! Seeking denial is no longer an option!!!!

  28. We have no marbles

  29. Is the sample size large enough now?
