Is Jake ok? Hopefully we will see the REAL Jake today. If so, the Marlins dont stand a chance, otherwise we best muster up some offense.
I see from the paper that Boch was saying that Josh doesnt bunt well. I wonder what he and Mags are doing to correct this situation or if they even consider it worth the extra time that would be required? This has long been one of my complaints about the Padres. The poor fundamentals of the players and the lack of concern over this deficiency by the coaching staff.

Given two equal players aside from one being able to bunt and the other not, I’d almost be willing to go with the lesser player just so my manager wouldn’t waste outs bunting.

That kind of attitude is exactly why the Padres are way up there in leaving runners stranded. When you dont have the money to fill your lineup with bangers, you best find another way to score. One fact I have found to be forever true in baseball. You dont score, you dont win..

This is obviously not the ACE, Jake..its the other one. Something is wrong with him cause I havent seen him pitch this badly in years past. I think he is hiding it.

First and third, nobody out against Moehler in the third and they can’t score a run. No excuse for that.

Crap.

This is brutal. I’m switching over to the Georgia/So. Carolina game.

A stunning performance by Dewon for Portland today … http://tinyurl.com/l6g4f … 6.1 IP with 0 walks!

The Oregon St vs Stanford game last night was fantastic … final was 4-3 Oregon St … every AB mattered … 2 good starting pitchers … difference in the game was defense … OSU played it outstanding … Stanford didn’t … going to game 2 tonight … OSU wins, they go to Omaha … it’s a beautiful thing.

Bottom of 9th … rally caps time! 7-3 fish … but 2-on, nobody out!
June 11, 2006 at 3:58 pm
Giles GIDP … keep those rally caps on … they’ve still got one more out!
June 11, 2006 at 4:03 pm
OK, rally caps off … save ‘em for next time …

I’m still not sure who he is (ie. how Padres acquired him), but Nick Crosta hit HR #1 for Lake Elsinsore (after tearing up the Midwest League @ Ft Wayne) … http://tinyurl.com/zh8ul

Kevin Jarvis did a pretty good Kevin Jarvis impersonation today … http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=260611129 … aw, I need to stop pickin’ on him … but it’s a reminder that not *ALL* former-Padres receive the kiss-of-life after leaving

Just returned from the game, $72 for what, watching a bunch of priviliged assholes play out the string while thier trophy wives count on the $$$. Bullshit I say. The product on the field is crap and not worth the $18 a seat. Its not the lose, its the lack of talent or even trying to hit the damned ball. They don’t seem to care so why should I? John Moores should be ashamed of the type of product he ha put on the fiield. Truely a pathetic team that can not hit and doesn’t give a shit either. The World Cup is better because even a low team like Trinidad De Bago cares and are passionate. Padres have no passion for the game and I can onl assume they are sitting back counting their $$$ waiting for the end of the season. What a bunch of bums.

Nic Crosta was drafted out of high school by Oakland and by Texas out of college but didnt sign leaving him available to be signed as a non restricted free agent. I suspect Alderson had something to do with that.

Actually, there’s an interview on the MadFriars page with Nic Crosta. He was projected as a very high pick who had “signability” issues. Grady Fuson drafted him in Oakland and in Texas and then signed him as a free agent here. He’s definitely one to watch.
