I still can’t find appropriate lyrics, so these will have to do:
My daddy took a look
On the day that I was born
And said he looks like corn
And his feet are made of clay
“Clay” — get it? Yeah, I know. My wife gave me that look, too. Hey, at least it’s a kickin’ tune.
Anyway, I’ll be down at the ballpark tonight so you’re on your own for this one. Be excellent to each other, and go Padres!

Don’t know if any of you ever had the pleasure of reading Gammons’ Sunday column in the Boston Globe. It went until about 1990 or so. It was an ENTIRE PAGE of text dedicated to baseball, about 100+ inches of copy (think of writing a 15 page research paper every week). Reading that made me feel like I knew everything there was to know about baseball.
Gammo is the best. I hope he recovers quickly.

Yeah. Castilla just took a first pitch, somewhere in PETCO Geoff is shocked.
yea I wish Gammons the best, hopefully he’ll be better soon. He’s also transitioned really well to TV and become one of the best guys behind the microphone as well as in print which is a tough thing to do.
