Looks like everyone else went to the game too. Jake dont look so hot and they are stealing us blind. Jakes got to keep the runners honest, at least.
Ramariz homers and Cubs get their first lead in a week

Now Barrett triples and they try squeeze?
we gotta get something going on offense for Jake.

Why did they make the chicken guy sit down? God forbid a fan show some spirit and try to get people fired up.

Dull game, neither team can string any hits together to score. The Petco Curse…Friend of mine suggested tonight at dinner that Phil Nevin put a curse on the place. Has to be something.

Phil got to go to Arlington, hitters paradise, so no curse from him. Man our bats suck, but nice blast to win. 7 in a row. Yea.

OTOH, we win again on another walkoff. Nice pie in the face Peavy.

I would be giving Jake any condolences, he hasnt been pitching well in his last couple of starts. Tonight he was shaky and saved by some good defense and the Cubs own iineptitude. By the way, I know that Piazza doesnt have a good arm, but Geeeeesh, the cubs were running at will on us. Pitchers are gonna have to help out and keep the runners close when Mike is catching.
On afinal note, Bowen seems like a rare find. I wonder how he managed to get on Towers radar? I sure thought we had screwed up by letting ross go and signing Bowen off waivers. Not so it would appear.

Just got back from the ballpark. Hate to disagree, Irrational, but that’s as exciting a game as I’ve been to in a long time. Seemed like it was hanging in the balance on just about every pitch from the fifth inning on.
And I also think this team may be finding its identity. Just like last May, it’s a different guy every night.
Yeah, Hank, Piazza’s throws are brutal. I can’t remember seeing him get a ball to second without a bounce yet this year. And Bowen is a good player who was blocked by a great one (Joe Mauer) in Minny.
I admit, I’m a little concerned about Peavy. He doesn’t seem to be missing as many bats as he has over the past couple of seasons. Hopefully he can get that straightened out soon and go back to dominating batters again.
Man, what a great win!

Geoff…the discusssion and comments from the Ducksnorts community as evidenced by this online discussion is EXCELLENT! You are all to be commended, especially the host of this forum of esteemed sportians…or something like that.
I’ve noticed, along with more-esteemed practioneers of the sport, that Piazza is not the leader that someone with his command of the sport and great attitude seem like should be. He doesn’t seem to be in the clinch teamed with his pitcher when they need to bear down and get something done. It seems old-hat with Mikey P. these days.
Again Geoff, you’re leading a great community at Ducksnorts.com…I’d love to have an online community around the weekly TNJT like you do around the daily Padres games. Play Ball!
