I thought I'd take a little random walk through the archives and highlight a few old posts. Not that I'm one for nostalgia, but sometimes it's fun to remember where you've been... From August 24, 2001: Raley Field opened May 15, 2000, and seats, well, I'm not sure, but there were over 12,000 last night. We sat in the lower deck, off the first-base side, just beneath an overhang and behind the Krispy Kreme donut stand. I took some pictures but unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, I won't be able to post those till I return home. Bad Pitching Performances, Book and Spring Training Updates

Three things on the agenda today. Four if you count "an almost fanatical devotion to the pope," but I digress... Bad Pitching Performances I've got a new article up at Hardball Times: "Ten pitching seasons to forget." Three of these guys once pitched for the Padres. One was Mark Davis, which gave me an excuse to revisit the Keltner List I did for him over at Baseball Think Factory many moons ago. Steve Arlin merited an honorable mention for his 1973 season with the Padres. Before I added an innings-pitched component to the formula, Arlin made my top 10.
