Here’s the deal. When I started writing Ducksnorts back in the Mesoarchean era, the technology I was using made it impractical for me to write more than one post per day. Technology dictated workflow, and I grew accustomed to writing one longish piece every day. This approach has worked for many years but I wonder if it’s time for a change.
Once the book is done (very soon!), I’ll have a lot more time on my hands — at least until I run out of money and have to get a real job, LOL. Anyway, in addition to our usual faire, I’m also planning to run a daily diary of the 1969 season. That got me to thinking: I can probably do more than I’ve been doing here. Technology isn’t holding me back. A day job isn’t holding me back. Okay, so I’m out of excuses.
Well, not entirely. I do have one concern. I’d hate to disrupt the flow of conversation that we get going; I think we’d probably adjust to that, but you never know until you try.
So, my wheels are spinning. I could overthink this whole thing, or I could turn it over to you and test out some new functionality in the process. Here goes nothing:

I think more posts would be fine, but I would want a change in the format of the page, so as not to have to scroll down for my daily dose. In addition, if you did that, you might have a daily “open discussion” thread, since much of our discussion here is not related to a specific post and you wouldn’t want to fragment it.
I didn’t vote because…”It depends”
I think one per day…then make posts in the comments…have conversations….keep flow moving.
If you do go to more than one post, then maybe keep the comments for the day linked together…so we can discuss the new posts, while not losing the flow of the ongoing conversations. Seems to make the most sense.
I agree with previous commenter’s that if you move to more than one post epr day, there will need to be a shift in the format of the page. I like that we keep the flow of conversation together for the whole day. I’d also like to see more of your writing so…I guess I’m torn.
If you’re going over to Peoria for any spring training, and you’re interested to see some of the minor league games, I stumbled onto this web site which has info about when each of the minor league games are!

quality over quantity, Geoff.
But, more posts means more traffic means more $$$. You already have us hitting the Ducksnorts portal, tricky.
You do a terrific job and there is no reason we should not see you stuff in the UT or better. Great work. BTW, I voted for 5+ because I need more distraction from my mundane desk gig. Selfish, I know.
One a day is fine. I think most of us check Ducksnorts from work and multiple posts per day would kill our productivity!
I think it would be best to make one post per day because otherwise the discussion will be fragmented. You could still add more content by editing the original post.
I think having one major post of the day w/ topical event-updates is the way to go… However, you would probably want to alter the format so you don’t prematurely end discussions in comments section…
LOL @ Anthony. Hey! I resemble – I mean ‘resent’ – that…
Quality over Quantity is what brings me back to this blog daily.. but not daily to the comments, I guess that’s saved for the daily game threads.
G.Y.
I think you should post as many times as you feel necessary but instead of having a comments segmented by each post have the comments sections segmented by date. This way you are not pigeon holed by yesterdays news and you can post news stories with your own spin on them as they cross the wire.
Thanks, guys, for all the feedback. This helps clarify a few things and gives me a better idea of where to go from here.
