Ducksnorts reader SD Padres Gal was kind enough to send me some photos she took while sitting directly above the Padres dugout in a recent game at Petco Park against the Washington Nationals. I’ve posted the photos at Flickr — check ‘em out and be sure to thank SD Padres Gal for sharing these excellent pics with us.

Great pics…
From today’s UT:
“The Padres will be seeing Castilla again soon. The Rockies signed him to a minor league contract and plan to activate him Friday when rosters are expanded – just in time for the Rockies’ Sept. 4-6 series at Petco Park.”
Being a lifetime Padres fan (33 years today!), I can guarantee you Castilla will get a big hit or go 6-9 or something in that series. This is EXACTLY what always happens to this #$(*&$#@%(#&$% team.
Hey SD Padre Gal, how come there’s a fairly high number of pics that feature Padre posterier?
Barfield needs 40 hits in 32 games to tie Benito Santiago for most hits by a Padre rookie. Tough, but doable. Would love to see him get that if for no other reason than that sort of consistency is lacking in general across the whole team. You would have thought Aaron Cook was Greg Maddux circa 2000. I’m really tired of the Padres showing such meek effort against really marginal starters. Cook isn’t the best example, since his ERA is under 4 now, but the list of chumps who have handcuffed us over the last month is staggering.
Hey, all! In response to #2, you tend to see more of their backside sitting behind them. Plus the players almost always keep their eyes on the ground when walking to the dugout. There was one pic where Josh Barfield actually looked up and smiled at me, but other than that nothing but “eyes down.”
It was not intentional…well, most of the time.
SDPG … thanks! Next time you’re gonna sit down there, invite us all to join ya
