May 18, 1969, San Diego: Cardinals 6, Padres 5 (box score) The Padres jumped out to a quick lead in the rubber match against the visiting Cardinals, touching starter Dave Giusti for two runs in the first. After a single, walk, and passed ball put runners on second and third with two out, Ollie Brown singled to left to drive home Roberto Pena and Nate Colbert.
