How Am I Driving?

Hey there. Been meaning to do this for a while, finally getting around to it. Just a few questions for you. Leave comments or e-mail me if you’re so inclined.

  1. Are you getting what you want out of Ducksnorts this year?
  2. Better/same/worse compared to previous years?
  3. What’s working, what isn’t?
  4. More interviews? More analysis? More cowbell?
  5. Any ideas for stories? I tend to ramble on about whatever’s on my mind, but I’m always open to suggestions.

Can’t think of anything right now? Shoot me a message later–I’ll be here.

Thanks in advance…

  1. Geoff, I will probably shoot you an email on this subject but I have been scanning your site on a regular basis since its inception. You have continually searched for ways to improve the site and are more innovative than I could begin to think of. Keep up the terrific work(and I know from expeince it is work).

  2. More cheerleader pictures, please.

  3. Hank: Much appreciated. I look forward to your comments.

Mike: I’m working on it. ;-)

  4. What’s not to like? I’m drawing a blank!

I like the IGD’s … even moreso after meeting many of you!

    I like your “rambles”!!!

    I like linkoramas!

I like that if/when someone posts an interesting link in an IGD, that you’ll get it in your next main entry.

I like readin’ & talkin’ Padres thru this site … and I like your links to the few other blogs that I sometimes have time to check out (SDS, FF, GLB) …

See … “it’s all good” :-) (btw, that’s one of the phrases that stood out to me during my visit down there in June/July … youse guyse ALL say that WAY too much … ‘cept that down there, it IS all good :-)

  5. More memes. More nudity. More family recipes.

Just kidding. I like the new format and the posts have been great. Keep it up.

  6. I have, unfortunately, limited time to indulge my passion for the game. Until a couple months ago, the only baseball site I regularly visited was BP, to which I subscribe. That, plus catching a fair number of games on Channel 4, and the daily paper were pretty much all I found time for.

Hadn’t looked at a specifically Padres site in years, and back then was not pleased with what I found in the way of intelligent analysis and discussion. (I admit I may not have been looking very hard, tho’.)

In any case, found Ducksnorts a couple months ago, and it’s now part of my (almost) daily routine. Though I rarely contribute, I read most of what is posted, and find your articles, links, and fellow ‘Snorters postings intelligent, often thought-provoking, and fun. And it’s good to share the joys and pains of others who bleed brown.

Keep up the fine work, Geoff. And, oh, yeah, defintely more cowbell.

  7. Thanks for the comments, folks.

LM: I’m really pleased with the level and quality of interaction we’ve had this year (and it was very cool to meet so many folks at the Pizza Feed). Also, if I don’t say it enough, I’m glad to see more Padres blogs out there now. It kills me that there’s a Cubs blog whose sole purpose is to keep track of all the Cubs blogs. I’d love to see the Padres blogs reach that point. Not gonna happen but it’s a worthy goal nonetheless.

Jeff: Not all at once, I hope. That could be dangerous.

Pat: Glad you found us. I was kidding when I asked about more cowbell. Obviously, it was a given that you’d be getting more cowbell. ;-)

Also, I might as well put it here so I don’t slack off and not do it this weekend: I’m planning to do a podcast on Monday. I can’t figure out if this is a great idea or a terrible one. Usually that means I should do it.

Try something. It might work. I can’t play Nady at third but I can do a podcast.

  8. The in-game discussions are great. I have enjoyed the season even more because of them. I have been a Padres fan since 1983, but I haved lived in North Carolina all my life.

MLBtv has been incredible, because I have seen virtually every Padres game this season, even when I’m at work. But being a part of the in-game discussions here have been a great added addition to seeing the games.
