I know its a baseball blog, but what do you all think of Brees? Happy he got so much Jack, but this has got to set the chargers back a little, a team that was getting ready to peak and now they have a rookie QB. Cindarella stories happen, but not often. Sometimes I think AJ is too hardnosed.
And of course, Go Aztecs! God I hope we win tonight. Never filled out a bracket until this year. I have the tecs making it past Gonzaga to UCLA in the sweet 16.

I’m just wondering what the heck they’re going to do with the semi-finals for the WBC with a storm that is supposed to include hailstorms set to be in San Diego the whole day.
Piece together a game by playing the little that’s able to be played 20 minutes at a time? That’s gonna have to be rough on the pitchers. Delay the whole thing a day or two? That’s gonna have to be rough on the whole thing.
I was watching Cold Pizza this morning on ESPN 2, and San Diego’s mayor was actually on talking about how great the WBC is, because it’s going to show off San Diego, and our beautiful weather, which is constantly a sunny 72 degrees. Not even a mention of the pending storm.
Whatever happens, I’m afraid we’re not going to see the packed house and typical SD weather. And I’m not quite sure how they’re going to fit the games in at all.
Oh yeah, sorry for spreading the funk to ya, Geoff. I’ll try to be more careful in the future.
Yeah, there is the Ralphs half-ironman this weekend too (in oceanside) and it looks like a soggy time of it. I hope the WBC has an alternative plan (rain delay). As my NYC wife says, theres nothing to do in SD when it rains.
Yeah, we are an outdoors kinda town.
And I’m happy Brees got what he did. The Chargers gave him a fair offer, and he found a better one elsewhere. Story of our lives ’round these parts, but I don’t think Drew was worth the gamble, personally.
And the Aztecs have a very good chance of breaking into the Sweet 16, in my opinion. One game at a time, though.
I think the rain is going to be tame. The weather report says a 40% chance of showers and there is no rain forecasted for Friday and Sunday.

There’s been an amazing amount of buzz about the WBC around my office … a friend of mine is going down to Fullerton this weekend, thought it’d be fun to zip down for a WBC game @ Petco and found that the event is sold out! So, USA or no in the finals, it seems like a successful event … cool!
