Brazelton Out, Hensley In

Sat, Apr 15, 2006Ballhype: hype it up!
by Geoff Young

As we noted during Friday’s IGD, Clay Hensley will take Dewon “Instant Offense” Brazelton’s spot in the rotation beginning Tuesday in Denver. Both the San Diego Union-Tribune and Padres.com have confirmed this.

Good to see the guy with the career 2.39 ERA get the nod over the guy with the career 6.42 ERA.

Picking up where last year's version left off, the Ducksnorts 2008 Baseball Annual provides in-depth analysis of and commentary on the San Diego Padres. Get your copy today.

True and I just ventured over to the Met game today.. X Nady playing usual X Nady interesting defense. There was a fly ball that just dropped so I say “Mike Cameron would have made that one..” Nady also didn’t do anything special at the plate. The Mets look okay (next weekend they go to San Diego) and it looks like Carlos Delgado, so far, has been trying to do too much (took many agressive hacks)..

I’m happy for Hensley, hopefully he’ll put on a good showing but it’s not really a good thing if your starting your first game in 2006 at Coors field

Also if you check out the Padre Game Notes for tonight you’ll see this..

“Speaking of Linebrink, the loss suffered by the reliever was his first in nearly a year (April 20, 2005 vs. Los Angeles)…Linebrink, who entered last night’s contest having won eight consecutive decisions, recorded 70 appearances between defeats..”
