Chan Ho was lousy. The Padres could have survived that. However, he was also tremendously unlucky (.400 BABIP) and suffered from a poor defensive play by Joe Randa that led to two runs.

What poor defensive play? Randa was the unlucky one - only charged an error because Giles’ throw hit the runner. If the throw doesn’t hit the runner, Randa catches it and tags the runner out.
Park’s control was awful tonight, and he was getting hit hard. Considering how many line drives were hit tonight, I don’t consider a .400 BABIP particularly unlucky.

I missed the Randa play, so I’ll defer to you on that. On the BABIP, I wasn’t tracking LD%, so I’ll stick to a .400 BABIP being unlucky.
