Not much going on right now. I had to dig for even this much…
- Boston glee party for Pauley (Longmont Daily Times-Call). Not to rub salt in the wound but…
- Former MHS pitcher to join Padres training (Mustang News). Nice little piece on minor-league free agent signee Scott Anderson.
- Harkey named BayBears pitching coach (Our Sports Central). Last year’s coach at Lake Elsinore moves up a level to Mobile.
- Beavers pitcher Bumstead featured on wedding reality show (Our Sports Central). Right-hander Mike Bumstead spent parts of each of the past four years with the Storm.
- Longtime college coach brings AAA Legion baseball to coast (Eugene Register-Guard). Former SDSU coach Jim Dietz gets involved with American Legion baseball in Oregon.
- Bevos plan to be competitive (Portland Tribune). Padres director of player development, Tye Waller, on Tim Stauffer: “He can locate very well, and he misses his pitches well (on purpose). He’s close.”
- Dawgs have their day for minor league team (U-T). San Diego Surf Dawgs are the local entry in the new independent Golden Baseball League. Season starts in May; home games are at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
That’s all I’ve got today.
