General Interest

Spring Training Update
- Team giddy over Eaton and Walker’s pitching progress (U-T). Two of my sleeper picks to click in 2003.
- This Padre throws hard . . . and wild (U-T). The continuing saga of Ben Howard.
- Padres’ Gonzalez eager to rebound from year of turmoil (NC Times). Catcher reports to camp in good shape.
- Hoffman back in camp, but not close to taking mound (NC Times). Closer’s season remains in doubt.
