[...] Ducksnorts, a sports blogger, summed up blog and book marketability highlights: “The panelists focused on the importance of marketability, with the two big lessons here being that price is all about perceived value and that you always want to keep your end game in mind, ensuring that everything you’re doing is pulling you in that direction.” [...]
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

#1@Ryan Hupfer: Thanks for the note, and sorry we didn't get a chance to meet this weekend. Take care!

#2@DM: Yeah, community has become a huge part of the whole blogging experience. As for quality, part of it is the lousy team, but part of it is that I've had to cut my baseball researching and writing activities from 40-60 hours a week to 5-10 hours a week. I simply cannot do as much as I'd like to do.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

I wonder if there was an emphasis on the community that a blog develops. I feel like that was one of the major pieces to why I checked your blog constantly for the past two or three years. The combination of your commentary and the running discussion really made this site special. I have to say that this year the quality of the posts has gone down, but that may be a function of the quality of the baseball that we were seeing for most of this year.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Geoff -

I don't think that we ran into each other this past weekend, but I would have to agree with you that the event was an overwhelming success. Once I stopped thinking like a marketer and more like a blogger, I really started to get a lot out of the experience. Not to mention that I had a TON of fun out in Vegas...which I guess is a given? :)

Also, I got some video with some of the more interesting people that I met while at the event: http://blog.hubpages.com/2008/09/its-all-about-the-connections-thoughts-highlights-and-lessons-learned-from-blog-world-expo-08/

Lots of cool people...this is just a tiny, tiny selection.

Anyways, glad you had fun and I'll talk to you soon -
