I wonder if Johnny Damon has figured out who plays for San Diego. He’s had enough time…
Meanwhile, this is ugly:
PA | BA | OBP | SLG | OPS+ | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Statistics are courtesy of Baseball-Reference and are through games of June 16, 2008. | |||||
Robinson Cano | 275 | .225 | .269 | .322 | 60 |
Khalil Greene | 287 | .226 | .272 | .333 | 65 |
It looks like Justin Huber is the odd man out. The U-T is reporting that he’s been sent to AAA. Does that mean that he’s already passed through waivers? The same thing happened with Sean Henn. Although he was out of options, they assigned him to AAA without the normal ’10 days to trade, release, or pass through waivers, blah, blah, blah’. I’m not sure how that works.
Chase Headley is in the lineup batting 7th.
#1@JMAR: Looks like he is batting sixth.
Ugh – I can’t stand Lightner…
Jeter has amazing range? To the hole, yes, up the middle, eh, not so much…
This is from the Transactions on mlb.com:
San Diego Padres
Recalled OF Chase Headley from Triple-A Portland and outrighted OF Justin Huber to Portland.
That sounds like he has options left, doesn’t it?
I also can’t stand getting picked off
I cant help but think about the 1998 World Series. Is this the first trip back to Yankee Stadium for the Padres ? The UT had a story today that touched on the 98 WS.
Pettite has a good pickoff! EG was completely fooled.
#2@Kevin: He was batting 7th until Kouz was scratched at the last minute with a back injury. Man, these injuries are starting to pile up.
#4 it does… good news.
That A-Rod guy sucks.
So does Giambi.
Headly didn’t impress with that play off the wall.
Friar John gives a plug to Ducksnorts today …
http://padres.mlblogs.com/archives/2008/06/hot_links_for_tuesday_june_17.html
The line between mainstream media and the blogosphere blurred a little more as ducksnorts gets an extended interview with Padres CEO Sandy Alderson. It’s being presented in three parts. Good stuff there. …
Thru 3 full …
Pitches-strikes – R Wolf 54-29; A Pettitte 43-26.
Ground balls-fly balls – R Wolf 2-5; A Pettitte 2-2.
Batters faced – R Wolf 13; A Pettitte 10.
#10@parlo: I agree.
This is getting real ugly, real quick.
The Padres also said Greg Maddux will move up a day in the rotation to start Friday against Detroit on his regular four days of rest. Cha Seung Baek will pitch Saturday.
This hasn’t been fun to watch. Stating the obvious. What else can go wrong?
watching on mlbtv….i HATE the Yankees announcers, especially when they’re kicking our ass.
#18@Oside Jon: Cone and Flaherty seem fine, but Michael Kaye is just another Homer like we have here.
Yankees announcers are giving Jerry Coleman massive props right now. Showing old footage of him playing and saying what a class act he is. Very nice showing that on YES network to their viewers.
#20@Oside Jon: 1950 WS maybe ?
Phillies were the opponent
Stansberry looks bad tonight.
Via MLBTradeRumors……”According to ESPN’s Enrique Rojas on June 12th, all 30 teams have evaluated Inoa. Aside from Beane, Brian Cashman and Kevin Towers have come to the D.R. to see the crown jewel in person. Signings can begin on July 2nd.”
Well, if your gonna get shutout 8-0, it might as well be by the Yankees. Man, that sucked.
Just got back to the hotel from the game. I thought the padres were playing this week so I wore my gear, but only the Yankees showed up.
Not a whole lot to say on the game. Team looked real bad, but at least with the blowout it didn’t take quite as long to get out of there after the game.
Fox is reporting that the M’s are intersted in KT to replace their recently fired GM. Probably just hot air though.
Nice article on draftees.
