Faris did a great job even though his velocity was down a little from coming off of an oblique injury that made him miss a start. He was a 12th round pick in the '06 draft out of Clemson. Put up impressive numbers in college and did pretty well last year, but wasn't always consistent. He is a very dedicated and hard worker and watching him, you can tell he really wants it. He may not ever be a top prospect, but hopefully he will be able to prove himself this year and show that he earned his spot in AA unlike other people like to think.

The Padres Prospect Report by Peter Friberg on May 22, 2007 blog inlcuded Faris's stats from that day's game and said this at the beginning of the report:
"You will not see all the notable performances from the night before, but you will see the notable performances from those who are actually prospects."

I think one of the main reasons Headley is at 3rd is Craig Stansberry is in a awful slump.
