Before we get to the farm report, that was an epic game on Thursday night/Friday morning. Stinks that the Padres came out on the losing end, but how fun is 22 innings? I’m not going to recap it, but if you want some sense of how it played out, read the IGD. Folks delivered big time in the comments.

I am a slacker. I turned off the laptop and went to bed after the eleventh inning. Longest game in team history (and third most commented DS post!), and I went to bed at halftime.
Geoff, the U-T guys are thinking along the same lines on attendance:

You think it’s nuts that a game in Colorado Springs was snowed out? The forecast for Portland this weekend includes snow! I’m going tomorrow night anyway … bundled up, for sure!
A note on the Colorado Springs game and snow: the game was scheduled for 10:30 am! If they had played at 7 pm, there would have been no problem with snow. Even if they had played in the afternoon they would have been OK (I live in CS).
I’m afraid that this season is going to be a long/bitter one for the Pads. Perhaps it is too early to despair, but after 3 weeks Pads are horrible in all offensive categories: 29th in runs, 30th in SLG, 30th in HR, 30th in 2B, 29th in RBI, 27th in TB, etc. Nobody is batting above .300 now.
