... and it's a fun-enough set of pics that it seemed worth adding to this thread.

Under the heading of better late than never, I finally got the pics I took posted ... I'm pretty disappointed with the pics ... and bum'd that my batteries died right before the ceremony started (and my backups were dead) ... so the pics prolly aren't all that fun/interesting for others, but they do remind me of a FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

These are from Saturday (ie. the day before the ceremony) ...

Too bad I wasn't able to find and meet up with the rest of the "gang", but I had a great time nonetheless. I took a panorama photo from where I was sitting up on top of the hill. Check it out:

http://www.stevenjenkins.com/HOF_Induction_-_01.jpg

(Geoff, feel free to use that picture for anything)

There's gotta be at least a third more people that you can't see in this picture sitting behind me or way off to the right.

I couldn't believe how many Padre fans there were. I was expecting to have KUSI searching through the crowd desperate to find padres fans to interview. I had my sound bytes ready and everything. But there was no need, I'd say 1 out of 3 or 4 people there were there for Tony.

Very emotional day. Will remember it for the rest of my life.

Man, this is sweet. I know Dave Winfield went in with a Padres cap and although some people have a problem with it, I don't. But now we really have a Padre in the Hall with no ifs, ands or buts about it.

Thank you Tony!!!

I ended up getting derailed a bit and didn't leave East Berne until about 10:20 AM today. Got to Coop about 11:30 with no hitches, and got within a half mile from the site without any traffic issues. That was a bit unexpected. Parked on some very nice family's lawn for $25, and walked for about 10 minutes max to get to the site.

Once there, the scene was UNREAL. I mean, people everywhere. The lines were obscene, so there was no getting merchandise or food. Luckily we planned ahead on the food/drink end.

If that wasn't enough good fortune, we soon hear that they are moving Tony's induction up to FIRST! Wow, can this day go any better??? So, the induction was true greatness of course and we head out without any hitches.

Managed to see/meet quite a few Padre fans, who were obviously excited to see other fans there. The Padre faithful definitely made themselves known. All in all just an awesome day.
