first pitch: 7:05 p.m. PT

I’m tired of looking at numbers. I have no angle for this one. Another win would be good…

What is with Piniella and stupid and bizarre pitching changes? Bringing in a LOOGY to pitch to Adrian when he’s OPS-ing 1.033 against lefties this year in 50 AB.
Cue the bells…
102: Ditto
101: I forgot to mention pointless and that Wuertz is a better pitcher than Ohman.
97 … based on this web page … http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/SDP/2007_sched.shtml … which is *awesome* … I’d say 5 … ie. right now …
HELLS BELLS!!!!!!!
100 … are you talking about Blum … or Jake?
438 Ft. for Kouz’s homer.
One strike away.
Oh shit. Nice triple. Bad for us…I hope not.
Good. That would have been a sad thing to happen to Wellsy.
Trevor and Cruz pull it off.
Padres WIN!
Dogs up 4-0 … so looks like first place will have to wait another day …
113: That sucks. It only costs about $40 to get to LA on the Amtrak. Maybe we could by Blum a ticket.
BTW, IMHO Cruz was feeling the presence of the porch. I think OG, who is very comfortable out there and has no fear of contact with walls, may have caught the ball off the bat of DeRosa.
And I’m not saying that to be critical of Cruz. He made a solid effort.
114: Buy
Here’s an out-of-the-box idea for our pitching “rotation” … it’s a 2+4-man rotation … it’s a 20-day rotation … it goes like this … Peavy and Young get their regular starts every 5th game … whilest the other 4 rotate thru the remaining 3 spots … over 20 games, it looks like this …
1 Peavy
2 Young
3 Hensley
4 Maddux
5 Germano
6 Peavy
7 Young
8 Wells
9 Hensley
10 Maddux
11 Peavy
12 Young
13 Germano
14 Wells
15 Hensley
16 Peavy
17 Young
18 Maddux
19 Germano
20 Wells
Variations could include …
– skipping one of the 4 if an off-day aligns with their start day
– or just bumping the 4-man part
– or only letting Wells start at Petco
If we did this, I think the 4 (Hensley, Maddux, Germano, and Wells) would all benefit from the extra rest …
Then I’d not feel so bad having a 12-man pitching staff …
115 … nice observation, Rich … it’s a reminder of OG’s value beyond the boxscore …
Lynch, you da man. Pls. tell GY to get a hold of me if you chat with him tonight or tommorow. I’m going to sleep. See ya tommorow.
