Albert Pujols just got caught trying to steal home with two outs in the top of the 12th. It was a lefty pitching from the stretch (Sanchez) and Pujols got a good jump, but the catcher (Molina) just caught Sanchez's attention in time and Sanchez pitched out. When Pujols saw the pitchout, he stopped and tried to go back, but Molina dropped the ball. Pujols, seeing this, tried to keep going and score, but Molina recovered just in time to tag him out.

What a frustrating game. Wells pitched a gem and deserved much better. Lots more to say, but it will have to wait till morning...

158: Kouzmanoff was actually 1-4 with a walk tonight. And it's all of 15 games into the season. So, yeah, wanting to send Kouzmanoff down is a knee-jerk reaction.

Jesus…losing an extra-inning game at home is the worst feeling ever. I’m not one of those knee-jerk guys, but the Pads have got to send Kouzmanoff and Thompson down for a while. I mean, Kouz isn’t just having bad outcomes - dude swings at everything. I would seriously almost rather have Castilla at this point. And whenever Thompson enters a game it’s over. Seriously…we can drag somebody else out of AAA that can get people out, right? Tonight’s loss is demoralizing. Teams should never lose extra inning games at home. And considering the Padres just played 27 innings in 2 days, the bullpen is going to be in tatters tomorrow. Ugh. This is going to get worse before it gets better.
