This is great stuff I am glad Brandon Cooper and the Padres are getting such nice PR. I saw another blog earlier this morning comment on Cooper.

Wow, Marty is gone (with 4 million in his pocket), what a shocker. Its pretty clear AJ Smith is a hard man to work for, but you can’t argue with the results. Only problem, all the good coaches are gone. They should have fired Marty after the season and promoted Carmron and Philips. I guess they can always get chuck long from SDSU. Actually, this is a LARGE oppo for some coach out there. Its a talented team, no doubt.

The speculation over who’s coaching the Bolts is going to get out of control, fast. The best part is, the Chargers have probably the most talented set of players in the NFL, and coaches can’t win without players. Every ambitious and/or out-of-work coach in the pro and college ranks started making phone calls at about 6pm last night. For Dean and AJ, it’s a buyer’s market.

The Spanos and Smith are setting this whole thing up to create ill will in the city towards the Chargers, to give them some cover when they relocate to LA.

I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:

    http://www.americanlegends.blogspot.com

If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.

    Thanks,
    Mark

The Police are playing at Fenway they day before Tony Gwynn’s induction ceremony. It’d be hard to get from place to place, but a Police show at Fenway Park followed by Tony Gwynn being inducted into the Hall of Fame would be the best two days ever.

KRS1…sorry, but don’t see that happening…not w/o AJ Smith giving up control…and isn’t that the reason that Marty is not here anymore?

P&C’s report in 2 days…WOOOOOHOOOO…baseball is upon us.

Yeah yeah yeah I know I know I know but pipe dreams are fun! I also can’t help but think that with all the heat starting to come down on USC lately and with the Chargers being so loaded with talent that if there was ever a point in time when Pete would come back without getting total control this would have to be it right? Total control is nice but being handed a super bowl team from day 1 sounds pretty good too. I know it’s probably less likely to happen than umm… I don’t know, let’s say Geoff Blum hitting .300 but it would be nice and at this point I wouldn’t say it’s totally far fetched.

I can say one thing for SURE, if they hire Norv Turner I might be tempted to take a swan dive off a very well known bridge in town!

I know that bridge very well…I think you were one of the ones talking me down last August…

Has the story come out yet about why Linebrink missed that time last year?

Is it Brandon Cooper or Cooper Brannan?

I’ve read a few different entries with those two names.

Police reunion tour is going to rock.

Re 11: The UT and the Padres website say Cooper Brannan. I think I’d go with that.

And if Ducksnorts is open to comments about football, then it’s gotta be open to a story like this … http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/news;_ylt=AuMWVjdcuxBQq2GRAFUNdqTevbYF?slug=dw-durant021207&prov=yhoo&type=lgns … ’cause when a “real deal” comes along, we all just gotta watch!

I’m not sure if the Police are more boring now, or 25 years ago, but the tickets will cost more.

There’s no way the Chargers are bringing a big name coach in. They’re paying Marty 4 million bucks to stay away..they’re not going to pay a guy like Pete Carrol 7 million a year to coach the team. The Spanos family is cheap and it’s going to be an assitant from somewhere else that comes in. No other big name coach will come in here because they’re all going to want full control and that is why Marty isn’t here anymore. AJ Smith hates him and has wanted to get rid of him since he’s been here.

Nels Cooper Brannan is his name. He likes to go by Cooper, but his friends and fellow Marines called him “Coop-A-Loop” when I was in his platoon. I think he said they call him “Niner” now because he only has nine fingers. He is a damn good Marine and I bet he’ll be an even better Baseball player.
