Sounds like Roberts and Aurilia are going to the Giants. Maybe they should rename themselves this year as the Padres North.

Two years and $12.5 million for Woody. Woody really became one of my favorite players this past season, mostly because he wasn't a "pitcher" like everyone else on the staff (I played catcher in high school and decided that as a whole, I hate pitchers). He didn't give away at-bats, fielded his position excellently, and was an all-around gamer. And except for his playoff start, he won every big game we needed in the second half. I really wanted him back. All that said, I'm happy we didn't give him a two-year deal.

We also get a supplemental pick in the first round of the draft and Houston's second rounder.

Woody to the Astros, too.

Some of my favorite blogs:

AaronGleeman.com, The Baseball Analysts, Baseball Musings, Batgirl, Pussy Ranch, Dubious Quality, Fire Joe Morgan, A Hamburger Today, I,Asshole, Minor League Ball, MLB Trade Rumors, NOLACuisine.com, Off The Broiler, and From Studio Twelve A.

I visit dozens, but those listed are daily stops.

Does it seem that there are an inordinate number of outstanding Minnesota Twins blogs?

Man, with these prices for hitters, it makes us look stupid for not renewing the option on Mike Piazza's contract. He's cheap, short-term, and would have been perfect for continued power from a spot in the order that will now be somewhat of a weakness.

My favorite blog is minorleagueball.com

On a side note, Pat Dobson, former Padres pitcher and pitching coach has passed away at age 64. When I heard the news, it brought up fond memories of the great job he did with the 1989 squad.
