I think this helped him maintain an advantage over the hitters, they may have been expecting fastballs based on scouting reports or previous experience but he made a big adjustment and was almost a different pitcher over the last month or two. I'm beginning to wonder who will be more effective (long-term) Jake or C.Y. I expect a lot more excellence out of Chris in these next few years. I followed Chris while he was in the Texas organization. Jamey Newberg (newbergreport.com) does an excellent job covering the Rangers and I was able to follow Chris's ascent.
