I really have to own up and take responsibility for this loss. Way back in post 170, I said: "Karma is going to doom the Dodgers now. Their fans are doing the wave." I thought the karmic retribution would happen through a blowout win by the Padres. It turned out it happened by the Dodgers rallying to win after all the fans had left because it looked like their team had lost. I apologize for misinterpreting and taunting karma. Let me just say that the Dodgers are now destined to win out and the Padres are going to lose out. And Ryan Howard is going to win the NL MVP, and the Mets will make it to the World Series.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

We're two games behind St Louis. As important as winning the West is, I think finishing ahead of the Cards and getting home-field advantage is just as huge. I realize how we've been barely mediocre at home and pretty good on the road, but having Game 1 at Petco instead of at Busch makes it tougher for St Louis. The Cardinals are a lot better at home than we are on the road. So I've been paying as much attention to them the past few weeks as I have the Phillies and Giants.

Just throwing that out there.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

That wouldn't be the playoff matchups, with the Padres in second. The Padres would play the Mets in the first round.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

re #792. We see them before October too...while the Dodgers get the Giants with a chip on their shoulder.

Gang, this is how Dodger fans felt April 30th. Time to see what we are made of now. I like our chances, I really do. But nothing is ever guaranteed in baseball. Football? Basketball? ANY game with a time clock? Over. But not baseball.

I'll be at the ballpark from Wednesday thru Sunday and we are already looking at going to Arizona for the final day, although that is not a done deal...
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

RE 783. Oh, yeah. I haven't seen Animal House in a long time (and since I read SDPG's post after the collapse, didn't get the right mood). Apologies SDPG...Thanks LaMar
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)
