It bothers me to see that the Padres can give up a 2 run lead in the 8th inning, especially when SF had already lost. Is this the type of team that can win in the postseason? I think they have to get that stomp on the throat when they're down mentality before I'll expect anything from them against the Cards or Braves. That said, Go Pads!!

Yeah, Rich, I was just being cranky. I'd like to see a little more "buzz" around the Pads right now. The team has been to the playoffs three times in 35 years and now that they're actually doing something, they aren't getting much love even in their own town. Kinda bugs me.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

A word on the Charger coverage thing from someone who wrote about BOTH games last night...the Chargers play once a week...I would expect the Monday paper to be more about them. Now, I personally would have run the Pads as a banner at the top...but I also am aware that the UT has an editiorial "format" for the front page of the Monday sports section during football season and most likely are loath to deviate from it. That said, I was at the Padre game and wrote about the Chargers from highlights and stats...
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Updated: .384/.458/.918 in 83 PAs for a Coors OPS of 1376. Any reason why Greenie shouldn't bat 3rd or 4th every game they play at Coors?
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Yes, that's AVG/OBP/SLG, for an OPS of 1287. Somewhat higher now.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)
