The sooner the Padres picks got eliminated from the Series, the sooner we can get them signed.

Lynch,

Sorry, but no, I didn't see any of the game so I can offer you no impartial opinions. In general, however, I'm inclined to say that they overdo calls intended to 'protect' players. Batting helmets, Schmatting helmets...

Make it 8-2, Giants. HR Metheny.

Brian G - thanks, yes today was tough ... in fact, Saturday was tough for the Beavs. They were good enough to win it all ... but lack of power cost them ... and they just didn't get any breaks ... especially today vs Baylor ... they have ALL their pitchers coming back next year, so it seems likely they'll be back in the post-season next year.

btw, did you see the game Saturday? I'm interested in a somewhat unbiased opinion of the no-call ... on Owings slide into 2nd base ... sure seemed like interference (by the rules) on 2 counts ... 1st, he overslid the bag (it's my understanding that's specifically forbidden) + 2nd, and most agregious, he fore-arm-shivered the SS with his RIGHT arm!

And I was disappointed that Tennessee went 2-and-out also ... was hoping for the 2 Padres' picks to get a bit more air time ...

Giants get a comebacker to get out of the seventh after allowing two runs. 4-2 Giants, bottom 7.

Well with the way Lowe has shut us down this year, you may be right, but Woody's been solid since coming back, so I would give it a push, especially if the Dodgers' lineup is similar to tonight's. But after tonight's game, I am overly optimistic.
