lets not forget JJ Furmaniak
J.J. Furmaniak was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored, while Adam Hyzdu was 3-for-4 for the Beavers.
Furmaniak batted .545 (12-for-22) with three home runs, seven RBIs and eight runs scored in the five-game series with the Stingers.(from beavers website)
eventually they need to give him a shot at the utility job with the Padres.

Excellent call on Aki’s approach at the plate. It may be the single funniest thing I’ve ever seen happen at a baseball game (aside from that groundscrew guy getting bit by the cat… that was damn hilarious).

Furmaniak has only managed 15 walks in 204 at-bats. He doesn’t strike out much, which is nice, and he also has decent pop (33% of hits are for extra bases). Still, hasn’t shown near the ability to hit that Bobby Scales has. If the Padres manage so many injuries as to need to call up another utility type player, it has to be Scales.

You are welcome to compare the careers of the two players as hitters, but I would say that JJ certainly has shown the ability to hit just on last season’s performance with Portland.. .294/.348/.489/.837 with 17 hrs
dont get me wrong, I like bobby Scales but Furmaniak is the better player but has spent the last month in a slump. He is now back hitting like he can.
